A colourful Goldcrest, I watched one of these beautiful little birds playing in the grounds of Fountains Abby, and i just had to recreate him in glass.
constructed using paint and frit he can be viewed from either side, as the trasnparency of the glass allows the colour and painted details to shine through.
 
Oak base is 5cm sq.
final dimensions 15cm high,  12.5cm width (beak to tail) 5cm depth( glass 3mm)
